GREEN GHANA DAY AT JUKWA KROBO (10th June 2022)

The President of Ghana, H.E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, at the Accra International Conference Centre (A.I.C), launched the 2022 edition of the Green Ghana Project which took place on the 10th June 2022. The target was to plant twenty million (20 million) trees nationwide.

This year’s theme chosen to mark Green Ghana Day is “Mobilizing for a Greener Future”. Given this, the Archdiocese of Cape Coast and the Rector of Jukwa Grotto, Rev. Fr. David Obeng Paintsil collaborated to mark Green Ghana day by planting trees at the Marian Grotto located inside Jukwa Krobo (Twifo Hemang Lower Denkyira District, Central Region).

The exercise began at 10:00 am and saw several dignitaries graced the occasion. They included: Nana Kwesi Annan I, Archbishop Emeritus of Cape Coast, Most Rev. Matthias Kobena Nketsiah, the Rector of Jukwa Marian Grotto, and Rev. Fr. David Obeng Paintsil and the Director of Socio-Economic development for the Catholic Archdiocese of Cape Coast, Rev. Fr. Stephen Amoah Gyasi. The program had a huge turn-out of pupils from schools in the locality, members of the community as well as members of the Catholic Church. This made the event a success.
