As part of the ongoing CAFDIL’s attempt to facilitate access to quality education, the regular workshops to help teachers develop their competencies in the classroom received another input for the second term of the 2019/2020 Academic year.

The workshop which took place from 22nd to 23rd of January, 2020 at CAFDIL studios and conference room saw about ninety-seven (97) participants from fifteen (15) basic schools in the central region.

This edition addressed some challenges teachers faced in teaching Mathematics, English and Science at the basic level for primaries one (1) to five (5). The Head teachers were not left out.

Particularly, the participant were taught Lesson preparation including the component of the new lesson plan, the expected content under the various competencies as well as its associated terminologies in the curriculum and how to conclude a lesson.

In all of Mathematics, Science and English, the facilitators had the participants taken through the topics to be taught during weeks three (3), Four (4) and Five (5).

Lead by the facilitators, there was a demonstration on how to use the teaching resources in lesson delivery.

The head teachers had their turn on the Wednesday, 22nd January, 2020. They were exposed to an effective way of marking lesson plans and guiding teachers to developing a good lesson plan.

The workshop would be followed by supervision to these schools to further guide them in their classrooms.
